Locations in Time & Space
I’ve been in the world of entertainment and the arts for the better part of 20 years now. It’s a weird realization, really. I’ve done a lot of different things, and been a part of some projects I’m very proud of, and some I’d rather forget, and passed on(or been passed on for) projects I wish I had been able to be involved in.
So, when I decided to retire from photography last year, I did so only after great thought with what I was going to do going forward.
Welcome to the result of that.
I’ve been working towards revamping my website(I know, I know, I do this entirely too often but… just hear me out) and what I’m doing with it going forward is something… new. While this will still be the hub of all things “Jace Ridley”, this will serve as my “brain dump” as well as I start unloading all of my creative projects into this website. Between updating the blog more often with my freely associated thought trains to posting my latest homebrew game mechanics and Twitch help articles, this is where you’re going to be able to see what I’m up to in conjunction with my Twitter account and my Facebook.
I’ll post whatever art I’m working on here, and whatever my newest stories are… and any new Novel releases or content releases and where you can pick them up.
But, in the 20 years I’ve been working in the art world, I’ve been kinda…rudderless. Directionless. I get pulled in 75 directions because I have SO MANY interests and I love so many different things, that I never know what to focus on. But, my focus is more in control now as I’m heading toward my 36th birthday and feeling more like I’m coming into who I’ve always been working toward.
To that end, at the beginning of this year, we started ROLL CALL, which a full page about will be going up soon along. I’ve been able to take 20+ years of D&D experience, plus all my many years experience in the arts and entertainment and combine them to make something new. Admittedly, I didn’t come up with the idea first, but, borrowing from the greats is hardly a new idea. Taking from the wonderful experience of watching Critical Role, livecasting a D&D game where all the players are fellow entertainers and performers has been one of the best things I’ve ever done, so if you like great storytelling, check it out some time.
Otherwise, I hope you’ll stick around as I start pumping out new content on a more regular basis on a variety of nerdery and geekery related subjects. I’m looking more forward to the future now than I ever have been and I’d really like to reclaim some of the audience I used to have. My fans were always the best part of what I did…
So stay tuned, kids.
I’m gonna get real weird with it.
